Windows 7 is the latest version of Windows Operating System. Windows 7 Operating System is more advanced than Windows Vista. Windows 7 Operating System includes a lot of features and security for your data. Sometimes you might lose files from your hard drive due to various reasons like accidental deletion, emptied Recycle Bin, formatting or re-formatting drive or partition, deleting a file using Shift+Delete keys, OS crash and improper system shut down. Due to any of the above mentioned scenarios your files may become inaccessible from hard drives. In such situations it is possible to undelete files from Windows 7 Operating system by using good Windows Undelete software.

This software helps you to undelete files from various storage devices like hard drives, flash memory cards, USB drives, external hard drives and FireWire drives. The software can recover deleted files from Windows Vista, 7 and Win XP OS. It allows you to Preview recovered files before saving. This software is a READ- ONLY application and does not involve any writing operating while recovering deleted files. You can download the demo version of the software to evaluate the recovery results.

Follow the few easy steps mentioned below to undelete files Windows 7 Operating system using Remo Recover (Windows) software.

The most popular approach of utilizing computer networks for data storage is the NAS (Network Attached Storage). NAS includes a client/server design. A single hardware device called the NAS box acts as the interface between the NAS and network clients. One or more disk drives can be attached to many NAS systems to increase the total capacity. NAS devices have become the most popular choice for file sharing and data storage. Like any other storage devices, NAS is also prone to data loss.

The most common causes for data loss in NAS, or RAID Arrays are:

Inaccessibility of drives and partitions

Accidental reconfiguration of RAID drives

Hard drive crashes

Hard disk drive component failure

Virus attack

Accidental deletion of data

RAID array/controller failure

Intermittent drive failure resulting in configuration corruption

Accidental replacement of media components

Multiple drive failure

Accidental reformatting of partitions

Remo Undelete can recover files deleted from two disk mirrored NAS, if any one of the drive in the array has healthy file system and the operating system is able to mount the partitions.

Follow the instructions below to recover deleted files using Remo Undelete

Figure a: Program main window

Step 2: Select the logical drive which has deleted data and click “Next”. As you click Next button, the application scans the selected drive for deleted data and lists all the found files and folders in a tree format under Root folder as shown in Figure b.

Figure b: Found files and folders

Step 3: After you find the deleted files you can preview them before recovery. To preview the file, double click on the file whose preview is to be seen. This will show the preview of the selected file as shown in Figure c.

Figure c: Preview

Step 4: To save the recovered files, select the data you wish to recover or click Root folder to select, all the found data and click “Save”. A window to select destination location to restore recovered data is displayed as shown in Figure d.

Yes, using Remo Undelete software you can certainly recover deleted .pst file.

Chances of Recovery

The chances of recovering your entire .pst file depend on the level of disk fragmentation before corruption. Fragmentation is a common phenomenon, because data is never stored in contiguous fashion on the drive. However, if you have used file defragment tools just or some time before data loss, then chances of recovery is greater.

How are .pst files lost?

Most occurring and common instances of losing .pst files are:

Accidental Deletion

Formatting or Reformatting

Unexpected system shutdown or Software failure

Virus Attacks

Disk Corruption

Partition corruption or re-partitioning

Maintain a regular Backup

In order to overcome and reverse the unexpected scenarios, every outlook user should maintain a regular backup of the .pst file.

Traditional manual methods are time consuming, tedious and fail to take entire backup of an Outlook profile that includes not only e-mail archive but many other important attributes, for e.g. Registry settings, account settings, custom dictionaries, signatures etc. Such risk oriented incomplete manual methods to backup Outlook may not be a wise decision.

The best tool to use is Remo Outlook Backup, which is an advanced backup utility used to take complete backup of Outlook profiles. Designed to create backup archive of almost all outlook items, this software can restore complete e-mail client when disaster strikes or when outlook refuses to load.

Repair .pst file

Remo Undelete will certainly help you to recover the lost .pst file. But once recovered you need to repair the .pst file in order to access your emails. Use Remo Recover Outlook (pst) software which is mainly designed to repair corrupted .pst files.

Solution for recovering lost .pst file

This simple to use yet most powerful recovery software can successfully recover your entire .pst file. Remo Undelete works with Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. It can recover data from both FAT and NTFS Windows file systems.

Special technical or data recovery skills are not required to work with the software. Software is read-only application does not affect the partition or drive that contains deleted data.

Follow the steps mentioned below to recover your lost .pst file using Remo Undelete

Step 1: Launch Remo Undelete Software either from program files or by double clicking on desktop shortcut. Main application window of Remo Undelete is as shown in figure a.

Figure a: Remo Undelete main window

Note: If the logical drive you are looking for is not displayed in the list of logical drives, then use Search lost partitions option to find your lost partition (logical drive) and proceed with recovery process.

Step 2: Select the logical drive from which the .pst file has to be recovered and click Next button. As soon as you click next, the application scans the selected drive for deleted data and lists all the found files and folders in a tree format under Root folder as shown in figure b.

Figure b: Found files and folders

Step 3: Once recovery is complete and tree structure is formed, the next and final step is to restore your found files and folders to a safe location.

Select the data you wish to recover or click Root folder to select all the found data and click Save as shown in Figure c.

Figure c: Select destination location

Select the destination location and specify the file types you wish to ignore (file filter) while saving. Also check if you want the data to be restored in compressed form and click Ok.

As you click OK button, the program starts saving the data to selected destination location. Once saving is complete a message pops up intimating the same.
